The European giants are set for an entertaining encounter at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund following their convincing starts to the Euro 2012 qualifiers.

Germany won all four qualifiers before sharing spoils with Sweden in the friendly game and they aim to extend their winning run at home to five games.

With Mario Gomez missing out through injury, Miroslav Klose is set to lead the attack, with Mesut Ozil and Thomas Mueler playing off him.

Michael Ballack has been overlooked by Joachim Low as the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder has only recently returned from the lengthy spell on the sidelines.

There are no less than five Borussia Dortmund players in the squad, with 18-year-old Mario Goetze likely to win his second cap.

Italy have had a good start to the Euro 2012 qualifiers but the Azzurri have yet to make amends for the dismal showing in South Africa.

Thiago Motta has been given all clear by FIFA to appear in this game and he could start alongside Daniele De Rossi and Ricardo Montolivo.

Gianluigi Buffon returns to the side, just like Antonio Cassano, while Alessandro Matri and Giuseppe Rossi are also in the side.

Betfair no longer sees Italy as one of the top sides as they offer 1.84 (21/25) on home win, with odds on Azzurri 4.60 (18/5). Draw pays 3.60 (13/5).
