The friendly game set to be played in Moenchengladbach will be used by both coaches as an opportunity to test some promising youth players.

After beating Kazakhstan to record their fifth victory of the qualifying campaign, Germany enter the Australia game high on confidence.

Joachim Low is set to rest Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira and Philipp Lahm, while Mats Hummels and Andre Schuerrle are set to start.

There will be more changes to the team that beat Kazakhstan, with Toni Kroos, Mario Goetze and Jerome Boateng also pushing for the starting places.

This will be the first game for Australia after the Asian Cup final defeat to Japan and German coach Holger Osieck has named a pretty strong squad.

Tim Cahill remains sidelined with injury, but Harry Kewell and Lucas Neill are set to feature. Borussia Dortmund back-up keeper Mitchell Langerak also makes the squad, while striker Nikita Rukavystya returns.

The Australia squad features just two players from the domestic league, Robbie Kruse and Matt McKay.

It is little wonder Germany are the favourites to win this game, with home win paying 1.40 (2/5) at William Hill. Australia are 10.00 (9/1) to win the game at Victor Chandler, while draw pays 5.00 (4/1).
