Australia coach Holger Osieck will be without as many as four key players in the friendly games against New Zealand and Serbia.

Captain Lucas Neill is in the squad despite missing the season finale with a groin injury, while Brett Emerton joins the squad after helping Blackburn ensure Premiership survival.

However, Tim Cahill, Mark Schwarzer, Harry Kewell and David Carney are all out.

“Obviously we are at the stage of the season with the European-based players that’s very difficult after a long and very intense season,” coach Holger Osieck said.

“It’s great to be able to bring some of these other guys in there. Hopefully they will meet our expectations.”

Australia host New Zeland in Adelaide on 5th June and Serbia in Melbourne on 7th June.
