All eyes will be on Wembley on Sunday afternoon as Liverpool face Manchester City in the final of the Capital One Cup.

The Reds, who have won the competition a record eight times beat Carlise United, Bournemouth, Southampton and Stoke City on route to the national stadium, though they needed penalties in both round three and the semi-finals.

Since beating the Potters on spot kicks a month ago they have gone out of the FA Cup, progressed in the Europa League and have taken four points from a possible nine in the league.

Adam Lallana, Joe Allen and Martin Skrtel are all back in training but may miss out though Dejan Lovren has recovered from illness and may come back in at centre-back after Jurgen Klopp played Lucas their in Thursday’s win over Ausburg.

Daniel Sturridge is widely available at 6.5 (11/2) to open the scoring, with Roberto Firmino an 8.5 (15/2) chance with 888 Sport.

The Merseyside outfit are priced at 3.3 (23/10) to win the match inside ninety minutes with 888 Sport, with their Manchester counterparts a 2.8 (11/8) chance with Bet 365. Bet Victor have the draw at 3.5 (5/2).

Manueul Pellgrini’s side are best priced at 1.67 (4/6) with Bet 365 to lift the trophy, with Liverpool 2.3 (13/10) with the same firm.

City eased past Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Hull City in rounds three and four and the quarter finals respectively but had to come from behind to beat Everton in the semis after losing the first leg at Goodison Park.

Having fallen behind in the title race and been eliminated from the FA Cup since sealing progression to the final of this competition, this game takes on even more significance as Pellegrini looks to end his time in charge of the Citizens on a high.

Jesus Navas, Wilfried Bony and Eliaquim Mangala could all return for the game, with the latter making the subs bench for Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League win over Dynamo Kiev though Kevin De Bruyne, Fabian Delph and Samir Nasri remain sidelined.

Sergio Aguero is favourite to get the first goal of the game at 5.0 (4/1) with most firms, with Yaya Toure a 10.0 (9/1) chance with Coral.

Both teams have scored in each of the last nine meetings between the sides, the most recent of which finished in a 4-1 win for Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium back in November and you can back both to do so this time around at 1.73 (8/11) with Betfred.
