Searching for their seventh consecutive Bundesliga triumph, Bayern Munich play host to ninth-placed Hoffenheim, a team that sit mere four points behind Champions League positions at the moment.

The Bavarians may not have enjoyed the best of starts, but they eventually returned to the right track, with legendary coach Jupp Heynckes again giving the helping hand.

An excellent run of results saw Bayern create a 16-point lead at the league summit, meaning they will be at times able to shift their focus to the Champions League and DFB Pokal.

Having already eliminated arch rivals Borussia Dortmund from the German Cup, the Bavarians are now hot favourites for the domestic double, and will also attempt to reach European glory.

Following six successive league wins, Bayern take on Julian Nagelsmann’s Hoffenheim, and they are priced at 8/11 for a half-time/full-time win.

The Bavarians recorded two comfortable wins since the league campaign resumed, albeit conceding three goals in the process, so Jupp Heynckes will have to work on improving the shaky back line.

For the visit of Hoffenheim, the experienced boss will have David Alaba back to the side, but the game comes too soon for Mats Hummels.

Probable starting line-up (4-1-4-1): Ulreich – Kimmich, Boateng, Sule, Alaba – Tolisso – Muller, Vidal, James, Ribery – Lewandowski.

Hoffenheim have been on a major uptrend in the 21st century, climbing from fifth to first tier of Germany’s league system and playing an important role in the elite division.

Fourth-placed finish last season was their best result yet, but TSG eventually failed to prove their worth in Europe, crashing out in the Europa League group stage.

Hoffenheim have also been performing well this term, and they currently sit just four points behind second-placed Bayer Leverkusen.

TSG have been going through a rough patch of late, taking just one point from last three league fixtures, with the 4-1 loss to die Werkself likely to prove costly.

Julian Nagelsmann doesn’t have too many injury concerns at the moment, and Nadiem Amiri should start after resuming full training.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Baumann – Bicakcic, Vogt, Hubner – Kaderabek, Amiri, Geiger, Rupp, Zuber – Uth, Gnabry.
