Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri fears that busy schedule could end up costing his side dearly when they face Juventus on Sunday.

The talented tactician was happy with a comfortable Champions League win over Viktoria Plzen, which saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic return into action after recovering from injury.

“It is an important victory to give consistency to what we did in Barcelona,” Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.

“We alternated good things with not so good, but overall the win was deserved. Ibrahimovic is an important player and can give great physical presence to the side.”

Nevertheless, Allegri is worried by the physical state of his players before the derby game with Juventus.

“When you win, then it helps even physical recovery to speed up. However, for a month we’ve been playing with the same men and so many games in quick succession. Once again this evening we struggled towards the end with fatigue.

“If Robinho and Alexandre Pato recover for Juventus, then it means I’d have more options, or at least the opportunity to rest someone.

“It is a difficult game on Sunday, even if it’s early to talk about it. Juventus have the big advantage of playing only once a week, while we will certainly feel the after-effects of this strain.”

Milan are 3.20 (11/5) with Victor Chandler to triumph at Juventus Arena, whereas the Bianconeri are 2.50 (3/2) with William Hill to claim maximum points.
