Levski vs IrtyshIrtysh will be looking to build on the goalless draw in Bulgaria and pip their more illustrious opponents to a place in the next stage, but Levski remain the favourites to go through.

The club from Pavlodar have been on a major uptrend over the last few weeks and they narrowly missed out on the league title last term.

Irtysh had to settle for a Europa League berth after ending the league campaign just two points behind champions Shakhter Karagandy, but they have experienced some problems this term.

After 18 rounds, Talgat Baysufinov’s side sit in sixth place in the standings, no less than 18 points behind leaders Aktobe, but at least they are midway through the domestic season unlike their next opponents.

It was the better physical preparation that helped Irtysh record a goalless draw in Bulgaria, and they are now 4.50 (7/2) with Paddy Power to qualify for the next round.

Having rested a number of first team regulars in the weekend’s victory over Atyrau, boss Talgat Baysufinov is set to recall them for the all-important clash against Levski.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Kotlyar – Khalmuratov, Coulibaly, Kucera, Shomko – Mukhutdinov, Govedarica – Shabalin, Murzoev, Yurin – Bakaev.

Levski Sofia fans suffered a real heartbreak as their beloved team lost the league title by sharing spoils with local rivals Slavio on the final day of the season.

This has seen the team miss out on Champions League qualification, while their Europa League campaign didn’t exactly have the perfect start.

Levski could only share spoils with Irtysh last Thursday, although the hosts did miss several excellent chances to score in the opening exchanges.

However, with their domestic season set to start in some ten days, they should look much better in the return leg, so no wonder they are 1.65 (13/20) favourites with BetVictor to win the return leg.

Levski do look stronger than last term, having signed Lopes, Ars, Genkov and Bru, although the new players have yet to properly gel.

Summer signings Sjoerd Ars and Tzvetan Genkov will not travel to Kazakhstan, meaning Basile de Carvalho and Joao Silva are vying for one place up front.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Iliev – Mulder, Angelov, Vezalov, Pinto – Bru, Velev – Ramos, Gadzhev, Mendes – de Carvalho.
