Yaya Toure confident ahead of Liverpool clash

Toure brothersManchester City midfield maestro Yaya Toure has warned Liverpool not to expect anything from the Boxing Day clash at Etihad.

The Citizens have been absolutely amazing at home this season, winning all eight Premier League games there and hammering the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal among others.

As a result, they are 1.80 (4/5) favourites to see off Liverpool as well, and Yaya Toure claims even mighty Barcelona are afraid of the Citizens.

“I had a call from one of my old team-mates from Spain who was quite disappointed,” the Ivorian was quoted as saying.

“He wasn’t sure what would happen. In the past they would be confident they would go through and beat anyone but they are afraid about us.

“The way we are playing at home – and they are seeing that – means they are quite scared because we play fantastic football, we score goals and it is total attack.

“At the moment we are terrific at home. Any team who comes here we think we can score against – maybe it wont always be the case for us to achieve that every game.

“We are not the sort of team that is fearful of opponents, we are playing in an attractive way and an attacking way, and I think Liverpool will be aware of that.”

And while the Citizens are definitely without Sergio Aguero and Micah Richards, they are hoping Pablo Zabaleta might recover from a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are without Steven Gerrard, Sebastian Coates, Daniel Sturridge and Jose Enrique, whereas Jon Flanagan is doubtful.
