Tottenham in new bid for Soldado

Roberto SoldadoThe Daily Star has suggested that Tottenham have increased their bid for Valencia striker Roberto Soldado as they continue the search for a new centre forward.

It is no secret Spurs are looking to sign a new striker, with the likes of Leandro Damiao and Christian Beneteke reportedly on their radar.

However, it appears the White Hart Lane outfit have turned their attention towards Valencia’s Roberto Soldado.

Daily Star understands that Tottenham have submitted a £20 million bid for the Spain international after their initial £17 million offer was rejected.

Valencia president Amadeo Salvo has moved to confirm the reports, but he has reportedly referred the Premier League side to the player’s £30 million release clause.

“The English team knows the situation. Valencia needs money. But we don’t have to sell our best player.”

The mere fact Tottenham are 4.00 (3/1) with BetVictor to sign Soldado this summer is enough to suggest the deal is far from being concluded.

Roberto Soldado, 28, has scored no less than 59 goals in 101 La Liga appearances for Valencia since joining the club from Getafe.
