Sunday afternoon’s game at White Hart Lane sees Andre Villas Boas’ Tottenham Hotspur host Mark Hughes’ Queen’s Park Rangers, with both managers hoping to improve on a slow start to the new season.

Spurs go in to the game on the back of a goalless draw with Lazio in their opening Europa League fixture on Thursday, having won for the first time in the league at the weekend, beating newly promoted Reading by three goals to one.

Goalkeeper Brad Freidel is expected to be recalled for his 309th consecutive Premier League appearance, despite new signing Hugo Lloris’s debut clean sheet midweek.

Striker Jermaine Defoe bagged a brace last Sunday, and is set to start at the weekend as fellow striker Emmanuel Adebayor faces a late fitness test. The England striker is the favourite to open the scoring, with Bet 365 offering a price of 4.75 (15/4), while Clint Dempsey, who is yet to get off the mark for his new club, is a 7.0 (6/1) shot with Stan James.

The hosts are odds on to win the match at a best price of 1.53 (8/15). QPR are as highly priced as 7.5 (13/2) for the victory, with Bet 365, while the draw is 4.5 (7/2) with Stan James.

Queen’s Park Rangers, who have only won once in the league since their one-nil victory over Spurs at Loftus Road back in April, go into the game after impressively holding European Champions Chelsea to a goalless draw last weekend.

No team have scored fewer in the league so far this term than QPR, so you might be tempted to back the home side to keep a clean sheet at odds of 2.38 (11/8) with Bet 365, while Ladbrokes offer 2.62 (13/8) for Tottenham to win to nil.

Should the visitors score, Bobby Zamora, who played sixteen times for Spurs almost a decade ago, is the most likely to get on the goal sheet according to the bookmakers, with Stan James offering the best price of 5.0 (4/1).
