Alvaro NegredoSky Sport has learned that Manchester City have moved to the front of the queue for Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo.

New boss Manuel Pellegrini is keen to add another centre forward to his ranks after Carlos Tevez was allowed to join Juventus.

The Chilean manager knows Negredo well from La Liga and he is ready to test Sevilla’s resolve with an official proposal.

Los Rojiblancos are prepared to cash in on their star striker this summer, but they are not prepared to let him leave on the cheap.

Atletico Madrid were believed to be leading the race for Negredo, but they are now no less than 5.00 (4/1) with SkyBet to sign him, whereas the odds on Manchester City have been slashed to 1.40 (2/5).

Alvaro Negredo, 27, has established himself as one of La Liga’s top marksmen over the years, netting 71 goals in 138 league appearances for Sevilla.

He is likely to be interested in a move to Etihad, especially after his teammate Jesus Navas joined the Citizens a couple of weeks ago.
