Arsenal can virtually secure the third place in the standings with what would be their 10th victory in last 11 Premier League games, whereas Wigan are hoping to further boost their survival hopes following the impressive victory over Manchester United.

Arsene Wenger probably rues the fact that his side couldn’t hit the ground running at least few weeks earlier seeing that the Gunners would now be fighting for the Premier League title was that the case.

Nonetheless, Arsenal players can be proud of their latest run of results that saw them win 10 of 11 Premier League games and helped them create a five-point advantage over their top 4 rivals.

Following the 1-0 victory over Manchester City, the Gunners eased off to a win at Molineux and even though they are expected to have a much tougher task against resurgent Wigan, you should know Paddy Power pays 1.29 (2/7) on home win.

Kieran Gibbs has been rated 50-50 to play against Wigan, but Gervinho is expected to return after recovering from an ankle problem.

Abou Diaby and Francis Coquelin will resume full training next week, meaning they are out of contention for this clash.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Szczesny – Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Santos – Arteta, Song – Walcott, Rosicky, Gervinho – Van Persie.

Wigan have been showing a lot of improvement lately and their latest results prove the team have more than enough quality to avoid the drop.

Back to back victories over Liverpool and Stoke helped the team climb out of the relegation zone, whereas the good performance at Stamford Bridge was not properly rewarded as the Latics were robbed of one point by the referees, while they were also unlucky to concede a goal deep in injury time.

However, that didn’t stop them from outplaying Premiership leaders Manchester United at their DW Stadium and the 1-0 victory over the reigning champions should give the team a much needed boost before the season finale.

Getting a result at the Emirates will be no easy task considering Arsenal’s current form, but I wouldn’t bet against Wigan scoring in London, with Stan James paying 1.83 (5/6) if that happens.

Hugo Rodallega has resumed training following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and he could play some part at the Emirates.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Al Habsi – Boyce, Caldwell, Alcaraz, Figueroa – Moses, McCarthy, McArthur, Beausejour – Di Santo, Maloney.
