Beckham PSGArguably the biggest superstar in world football, David Beckham signed a short-term deal with Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day to embark on a new and possible the last challenge of his playing career.

While many believe the main reason why the Saints signed the former England captain was to boost their merchandise sales, PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti believes Beckham will have a role to play on the pitch as well.

With 15 more league games left to play this term, Becks is 5/2 with William Hill to start 13 or more Ligue 1 fixtures in the 2012/2013 season.

He is 3/1 to start under 6, 2/1 to start 6-9 and the same price to make 10-12 starts before the end of the current campaign.

The veteran midfielder is likely to come in handy during PSG’s Champions League campaign, with Beckham 11/8 to feature in three or more Champions League matches for the Saints.

“Beckham has shown he is still a valuable commodity in football and has shaken off the disappointment of being ditched from the team GB Olympic squad by signing for one of the best sides in the world,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
