Real Madrid vs Getafe preview

Real Madrid play host to Getafe at Santiago Bernabeu in a match that will have much bigger importance for the away team.

Los Merengues are looking to end the season on a high following the Champions League elimination and they are eager to win all their remaining games even if they are destined for second-place finish.

The 6:2 victory over Sevilla at the weekend proved that Real mean business, with los Blancos now 1.25 (1/4) with William Hill to end the three-match winless run at home.

Jose Mourinho is expected to make some changes to the starting line-up, with Ricardo Carvalho set to replace suspended Sergio Ramos in defence.

Xabi Alonso is a doubt after picking up a groin injury and he could be replaced by Esteban Granero. Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria should replace Karim Benzema and Mesut Ozil in the starting line-up.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Casillas – Arbeloa, Pepe, Carvalho, Marcelo – Diarra, Alonso – Ronaldo, Kaka, Di Maria – Higuain.

The match against Real Madrid comes at a worst possible time for Getafe, with the visitors set to miss almost entire starting line-up.

Los Azulones escaped the relegation zone with the 2:0 win over Almeria, but they are now just one point clear of the bottom three, meaning they are in for a nerve-wrecking season finish.

Coach Michel is clearly set to sacrifice this game in order to have his key players fresh for the final two games of the season, as witnessed by the fact that several key players intentionally received bookings at the end of the Almeria game, so as to miss this match.

Marcano, Pedro Rios and Victor Sanchez are now all suspended for this clash, while Manu, Rafa, Albin and Gavilan are also unavailable.

Taking all this into account, Real are likely to record a big win here, so backing los Blancos at -2 Asian handicap at odds of 2.05 (21/20) offered by Bet365 could be worth a shot.

Probable starting line-up (4-1-4-1): Ustari – Torres, Diaz, Mario, Mane – Casquero – Adri, Parejo, Boateng, Colunga – Miku.
