Even though PSG are already 12 points clear at the Ligue 1 summit, le Clasico derby vs high-flying Marseille is likely to generate plenty of interest in France and abroad.

L’OM are playing their best football in years, and the game against star-studded Saints will be a serious test for Rudi Garcia’s side.

After Monaco surprisingly beat them to the league trophy last season, PSG didn’t want to leave anything to chance and seriously reinforced their ranks in the summer.

The addition of Neymar and Mbappe made the Saints even stronger up front, and the result of that is a 12-point advantage over their title rivals with 12 games to go.

Once again, PSG appear to have squandered a good chance to reach the final stages of the Champions League, having suffered a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid despite taking the lead and dominating large periods of the high-profile encounter.

The Saints have since hammered Strasbourg 5-2 in the league and are now available at 1.25 (1/4) to defeat Marseille at Parc des Princes.

Kevin Trapp, Kylian Mbappe and Marco Verratti return from suspension, but full-back Yuri Berchiche misses out through injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Areola – Dani Alves, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Kurzawa – Verratti, Motta, Rabiot – Mbappe, Cavani, Neymar.

Marseille have been trying to return to where they belong over the last few years, and the club have indeed been making steady progress.

The arrival of Rudi Garcia and several high-profile footballers helped l’OM become more competitive in France and Europe, and this season has been going really well so far.

Marseille have just secured progress into the Europa League Last 16 stage thanks to a 3-1 aggregate win over Sporting Braga, while they are also doing well in Ligue 1.

Namely, l’OM sit six points clear of Lyon in the race for the final Champions League berth, whereas second-placed Monaco are just a point away.

Six wins and two draws in last eight league fixtures can give Marseille reason for optimism ahead of the trip to the capital and an opportunity to make the title chase interesting again.

There have been no fresh selection worries for Rudi Garcia, but Steve Mandanda, Gregory Sertic and Kostas Mitroglou continue to mis out.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Pele – Sakai, Rami, Rolando, Amavi – Zambo Anguissa, Luiz Gustavo – Thauvin, Sanson, Payet – Germain.
