Russia vs Czech RepFollowing a comfortable win over minnows Malta, Czech Republic will have bigger fish to fry when they take on Russia in Insbruck, Austria.

Sbornaya Komanda have suffered a number of injuries in the build up to the tournament finals and this will be the first of two warm-up matches.

Czech Republic did really well to win the first place in the group that also contained the likes of Netherlands, Turkey and Iceland, but they, nonetheless, face an uphill task at the tournament finals.

The Czechs have been pretty disappointing in first warm-up games, losing to Poland and Scotland before playing out a 1-1 draw with Sweden, so no doubt the 6-0 triumph over Malta have served as a major confidence boost.

Coach Pavel Vrba used the game to give captain Tomas Rosicky much needed playing time, while David Pavelka and Josef Sural also returned after recovering from injury.

The boss must have been happy to see Skoda, Necid and Lafata all score against Malta, but the game against Russia will be the real test for the Czechs.

Michal Kadlec and Daniel Pudil have joined the squad after missing the Malta game and it remains to be seen whether they will be in the starting line-up.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Cech – Kaderabek, Sivok, Kadlec, Limbersky – Plasil, Darida – Sural, Rosicky, Krejci – Necid.

After largely struggling under Fabio Capello, Russia showed a great deal of improvement since Leonid Slutsky took over and eventually secured their place in France.

Sbornaya Komanda have performed really well in the closing stages of the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign and they have big ambitions for the tournament finals.

However, Leonod Slutsky was unfortunate to lose Alan Dzagoev, Yuri Zhirkov and Oleg Kuzmin through injury, and they now need to find a way to compensate for the absentees.

Russia do have a decent strength in depth, although the ageing back line could prove to be a problem, as witnessed by the 4-2 loss in the March friendly to France.

Leonid Slutsky’s men are now available at 2.63 (13/8) to defeat Czech Republic on the road, but that is not going to be an easy task.

Schalke midfielder Roman Neustadter has been given the all clear to represent Russia, while there are no reported injuries at the moment.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Akinfeev – Smolnikov, Ignashevich, A. Berezutski, D. Kombarov – Golovin, Denisov – Kokorin, Shirokov, Shatov – Dzuyba.
