Dortmund vs BayernBorussia Dortmund host bitter rivals Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup match at Signal-Iduna Park, with the Millionaires hoping to retain the trophy after winning the last year’s clash 4-2.

The Bavarians may have won the domestic double last term, but they still need to contest the Super Cup game away from home.

Last season was not too successful for Borussia Dortmund as the Millionaires were unable to lift a major trophy, and they will be certainly looking to fare better this time out.

BVB may have seen star striker Robert Lewandowski leave, but they recruited a number of high-profile players, with Adrian Ramos, Ciro Immobile and Matthias Ginter all arriving at Signal-Iduna Park.

However, with a number of star players missing a big chunk of pre-season training due to their participation at the World Cup, Jurgen Klopp’s side will need some time to hit the ground running.

But, despite the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in their final warm-up game, the Millionaires have a decent chance to continue the good run against Bayern and are priced at 2.25 (5/4) to lift the trophy.

Even if Marco Reus and Mats Hummels have resumed full training, nether is expected to be in contention for the Super Cup match.

Jurgen Klopp is likely to field a team consisting only of players who are at 100%, meaning a number of stars will be missing.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Langerak – Grosskreutz, Sokratis, Ginter, Schmelzer – Jojic, Kirch, Kehl, Mkhitaryan – Aubameyang, Ramos.

While winning the domestic double last term, Bayern Munich were unable to defend the Champions League trophy, with 5-0 aggregate loss to Real Madrid seen as a major disappointment.

The Bavarians did well to lure Robert Lewandowski, Sebastian Rode and Pepe Reina during the close season, but have also seen Toni Kroos and Mario Mandzukic leave the club.

Team’s preparations for the new season were disrupted by numerous injuries and players’ post-World Cup holidays, meaning some under-par performances in friendly matches should not be a cause for concern.

Chances are that Pep Guardiola will field a similar side to the one that lost to MLS All Star Team on Thursday, with almost all first team regulars expected to miss out.

And with Franck Ribery and Rafinha missing through injury and new signing Pepe Reina unlikely to start, there is no value in odds of 2.10 (11/10) offered on away win.

Summer signing Robert Lewandowski will be handed his debut in a match against his former employers and the Pole is 2.38 (11/8) to score anytime.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): Starke – Martinez, Badstuber, Alaba – Hojbjerg, Rode, Gaudino, Bernat – Shaqiri, Pizarro – Lewandowski.
