Steven CaulkerPremier League newcomers Queens Park Rangers have emerged as favourites to sign England international Steven Caulker from Cardiff City.

The 22-year-old is almost certain to leave the Bluebirds this summer after the club got relegated to the Championship, with quite a few Premiership sides reportedly ready to match his £8 million release clause.

BBC Sport has learned that Queens Park Rangers have had a bid accepted for the talented footballer, but boss Harry Redknapp admits Caulker has other offers as well.

“He’s got a couple of other clubs interested in him but I think he feels if he was playing with Rio, it could help him get back into the England team,” said Redknapp.

Rangers recently completed the signing of Rio Ferdinand from Manchester United and they are now eager to pair the experienced defender with Steven Caulker in the heart of defence.

The club are widely tipped to make few more star signings and they are available at 1.44 (4/9) to avoid relegation to the second division.

QPR ensured straight return to the elite division by winning the Championship play-offs, with Bobby Zamora scoring the winner late in the game completely against the run of play.
