Ireland vs EnglandEngland manager Roy Hodgson has decided to delay revealing his final squad for the Euro 2016 finals until Monday as he has doubts over the fitness of some important players.

The Three Lions boss was expected to name the 23 players on Thursday, but he has decided to postpone the announcement after the weekend’s fixtures.

England have until 31 May to submit their final list to UEFA, but Hodgson clearly wants to get that out of the way as soon as possible.

The manager suffered a major blow last weekend as Danny Welbeck picked up a serious knee injury, with the Arsenal forward almost certain to miss the tournament finals.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had been previously ruled out, but Jordan Henderson should recover in time and is likely to be on Hodgson’s roster.

Another Arsenal star, Jack Wilshere only recently returned from a ten-month spell on the sidelines, but he could be included having looked sharp in recent weeks.

England head to the tournament finals buoyed by the impeccable qualifying campaign and friendly win over World Cup holders Germany and they are 10.00 (9/1) to go all the way.
