Liverpool have been handed a major boost this week as star striker Daniel Sturridge hinted he should be ready for the all-important clash against Chelsea at the weekend.
The England international missed the victory over Norwich with a hamstring problem and he was believed to be a major doubt for the Sunday’s clash with the Blues.
However, Sturridge has given boss Brendan Rodgers a major boost by declaring that he expects to feature in the title run in.
“Hopefully this weekend I’ll be back,” Sturridge said at a charity event, confirming that he hopes to face his former club.
Liverpool’s job on Sunday could be made a lot easier as Jose Mourinho has hinted he could rest a number of starters for midweek clash against Atletico Madrid.
And with the Reds already on a nine-match winning run in the league, it is hardly surprising they have been made 1.70 (7/10) favourites to defeat Chelsea.
Sturridge may have to settle for a place on the bench as Brendan Rodgers could field the same side that started against Norwich, but he will be ready to help if called upon.
