gudjohnsenLegendary Iceland international striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has become the last in line of high-profile players to make themselves available to tragedy-stricken Brazilian side Chapecoense.

The football world is still under great shock after a terrible plane tragedy killed the entire Chapecoense team of 19, who were among the 71 people who lost their lives after an aircraft carrying the Brazilian team to Copa Sudamericana final crashed in Cerro Gordo.

Ever since the accident the world football has come together, rallying around the club and families of the victims, offering the unselfish support in the time of need.

Leading Brazilian clubs have come together demanding that Chapecoense be exempt from relegation for the next three season, at the same time offering to loan players for free in order to help the club rebuild from scratch.

The greatest news came however when football legends Juan Roman Riquelme and Ronaldinho announced that they are ready to come out of retirement to play for Chapecoence.

Ronaldinho’s brother and agent Roberto Asis confirmed that the Brazilian legend is ready to help the club any way he can.

“It is a very difficult time. Later on, if there is a contact, we can talk”, Roberto Asis told Globo Esporte.

Following Riquelme and Ronaldinho, another football legend is ready to put on his boots in help of Chapecoense.

Former Chelsea and Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has made himself available to play for the Brazilian side.

“Out of respect I would play for Chapecoense if they have a place for me. If not just to play with Ronaldinho again”, Gudjohnsen wrote on his social media accounts.

The 38-year-old forward last played for the Indian Super League side Pune City, but was forced to miss the season through injury.

The Iceland legend made 186 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, before adding 72 La Liga appearances wearing the Barcelona shirt.
