Portugal vs MexicoMexico will be looking to show improvement from the 1-0 defeat to Bosnia when they face very good Portugal side in their final warm-up game.

Meanwhile, the Seleccao failed to beat Greece at home, meaning they, too, will have something to prove at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Mexico have experienced all sorts of problems during their World Cup preparations, with the 1-0 loss to Bosnia only adding to the worries.

El Tri had earlier stayed without important players Medina and Montes, while Rafael Marquez also picked up a serious injury.

And while convincing victories over Israel and Ecuador gave them reason for optimism, the performance in the defeat to Bosnia was well below par.

That may have had something to do with the fact boss Herrera had left several important players on the bench, but it is perfectly clear El Tri will have to show a considerable improvement if they want to reach the knockout stages at the World Cup.

Mexico will first have to contest a friendly match against Portugal in the United States, where they are 3.30 (23/10) to emerge victorious.

Miguel Herrera has hinted he will field his strongest possible side in the final warm-up game, but Rafael Marquez is unlikely to feature.

Probable starting line-up (5-3-2): Ochoa – Salcido, Rodriguez, Moreno, Reyes, Guardado – Herrera, Pena, Fabian – Hernandez, Peralta.

Portugal have been struggling to prove their worth at the biggest stage, but the good performance at the Euro 2012 can give their fans plenty of reason for optimism.

The fact key player Cristiano Ronaldo is carrying an injury is giving boss Paulo Bento massive headaches, but there is a good chance the Real Madrid star will recover in time for the opening game against Germany.

With Ronaldo and few more important players missing, the Seleccao could only muster a goalless draw against Greece, so they will need to show an improvement when facing Mexico.

Considering the opposition are also going through a rough patch, there may be value in backing Portugal at 2.30 (13/10) at SkyBet.

While Cristiano Ronaldo has done some training with the ball, he is certain to miss out against Mexico, but he is not the only unavailable player.

The likes of Raul Meireles, Pepe and Beto are all struggling through various ailments and they are expected to sit out the clash in Massachusetts.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Patricio – Pereira, Neto, Bruno Alves, Coentrao – Moutinho, William, Veloso – Nani, Almeida, Varela.
