Ecuador vs FranceAfter recording a hard-fought triumph over Honduras, Ecuador have destiny in their own hands, but chances are they will have to defeat red-hot France in order to qualify.

Les Bleus should remain in first position unless they concede a heavy defeat, but no doubt they will attempt to win this match as well.

It was the 7-1-0 home record in the South American Zone of the World Cup qualifiers that helped Ecuador to qualify for the tournament finals, but La Tri were predicted a difficult campaign in Brazil.

Reinaldo Rueda’s charges, nonetheless, produced a good performance in their opening fixture against Switzerland, but eventually had to settle for a 2-1 loss after conceding in the dying moments of the match.

Things looked pretty gloomy as Honduras took the lead in their second group match, but talented forward Enner Valencia stepped up the plate and scored two goals to keep team’s qualifying chances alive.

But with Switzerland widely tipped to win their final fixture, Ecuador will probably need to beat France in order to qualify and they are 4.75 (15/4) to succeed in their quest.

Reinaldo Rueda has no fresh injury worries at the moment, but he could make a change or two to the team that defeated Honduras.

Carlos Gruezo should be recalled to the starting line-up, while Enner Valencia and Felipe Caicedo will continue in attack.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Dominguez – Paredes, Guagua, Erazo, W. Ayovi – A. Valencia, Gruezo, Noboa, Montero – Caicedo, E. Valencia.

Following several disappointing performances at major tournaments, France were not even seen as one of the candidates for the trophy at the 2014 World Cup.

However, Les Bleus were instead the only European side to impress in the group stage, recording two comfortable victories to prove the doubters wrong.

And it was the manner in which 3-0 and 5-2 wins over Honduras and Switzerland were achieved that are enough to suggest Didier Deschamps’ men could go far at the World Cup finals.

With the first place in the group all but secured, the boss is almost certain to rest some star players, but France, nonetheless, look a good bet at 1.87 (20/23).

Raphael Varane is likely to be rested despite recovering from gastroenteritis, while Mamadou Sakho is doubtful with a thigh problem.

Yohan Cabaye misses out through suspension, whereas Pogba, Griezmann, Koscielny and Schneiderlin are tipped to start.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Lloris – Sagna, Koscielny, Sakho, Digne – Pogba, Mavuba, Schneiderlin – Valbuena, Benzema, Griezmann.
