CSKA Moscow vs RomaHaving recorded an impressive triumph over Manchester City at the Etihad, CSKA Moscow hope to make a decisive step towards the Champions League knockout stages by defeating Roma in ice-cold Russia.

The Giallorossi are in problems after two defeats to Bayern Munich and they arrive in Moscow without a number of important defenders.

CSKA Moscow have only once made it to the Champions League Last 16 stage, going on to reach the quarter-final in the 2009/2010 edition, and they now aim to improve their European record.

The Russians were virtually written off following back to back losses to AS Roma and Bayern Munich, but they have since showed massive improvement to revive their qualifying hopes.

CSKA Moscow came from two goals behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Manchester City in Moscow, before defeating their more illustrious opponents at the Etihad.

As a result, they now sit tied on points with AS Roma and can be backed at 2.90 (19/10) to get revenge on the Giallorossi for the 5-1 defeat.

Boss Leonid Slutsky faces some selection problems considering that Bibras Natxho is definitely out and Pontus Wernbloom faces a fitness test.

Winger Zoran Tosic returns after missing the Manchester City game, while star striker Seydou Doumbia is definitely the man to watch.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Akinfeev – Mario, V. Berezutskiy, Ignashevich, Schennikov – Eremenko, Wernbloom – Tosic, Dzagoev, Musa – Doumbia.

Having impressed to achieve a top 2 finish in Italian Serie A, Roma had big hopes for the 2014/2015 season and the team have so far done well on all fronts.

While again breathing down the necks of champions Juventus on domestic stage, the Giallorossi enjoyed a bright start to their Champions League campaign.

The big win over CSKA Moscow was followed by the 1-1 draw at Manchester City, while the two defeats to mighty Bayern didn’t prove too costly.

Seeing as how they have hammered the Russians in the first leg, Roma would be in a good position to qualify even with one point from Moscow, so bear in mind draw pays 3.50 (5/2).

While Francesco Totti returns from domestic suspension, the likes of Leandro Castan, Douglas Maicon, Vasilis Torosidis and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa are all unavailable.

Key midfielder Kevin Strootman has returned into action, but he is unlikely to feature in such a high-profile match given his lack of match fitness.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): De Sanctis – Somma, Manolas, Astori, Cole – Pjanic, De Rossi, Nainggolan – Florenzi, Totti, Gervinho.
