Sevilla vs Real Madrid preview

Exactly eight goals were scored in each of the last two matches between the two sides at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, which should guarantee us another exciting encounter.

Having won last three matches at the aforementioned ground, Real Madrid have got to be considered favourites here, but it is important to note Sevilla are still unbeaten this season.

Taking into account that nobody at the club could have been satisfied with the 9th-place finish in the previous La Liga campaign, we cannot be surprised by the fact that the squad have undergone serious changes in the summer.

There were no major signings at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but several very talented players arrived and two of them are already considered first team regulars.

Sevilla enjoyed a bright start to the season, with the opening win over Getafe followed by away draws against Granada and Rayo Vallecano, with los Rojiblancos now 2.30 (13/10) with Sportingbet to continue the unbeaten run.

The hosts will be without Jose Antonio Reyes through a shoulder injury, but Diego Perotti is back in contention after the lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-2-1): Lopez – Cicinho, Botia, Spahic, Navarro – Trochowski, Medel, Rakitic – Navas, Manu – Negredo.

Real Madrid may have had one of the worst starts to the season in their recent history, but the Super Cup victory over Barcelona and an impressive showing in the return leg changed everything.

The 3-0 win over Granada was just a confirmation that los Blancos are returning to the right track and now that the Ronaldo issue has been put behind them, the team can fully focus on the important clash with Sevilla.

The most important thing is that all the players returned from international duty unscathed and with that being the case, it is no wonder Real are 1.62 (8/13) with William Hill to emerge triumphant.

After everything that was written in the press over the last week or so, Cristiano Ronaldo will be determined to show he is still completely dedicated to Real’s cause, so my advice is to back the Portuguese to score at any time, at odds of 1.57 (4/7) offered by 888sport.

New signings Michael Essien and Luka Modric could be given their first starts as Jose Mourinho plans to rest Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil, with Karim Benzema set to be deployed as a lone striker.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Casillas – Arbeloa, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo – Essien, Alonso – Di Maria, Modric, Ronaldo – Benzema.
