Real Valladolid vs Real Sociedad preview

Newly promoted Real Valladolid will be hoping to continue the good home run when they take on Real Sociedad, arguably the worst travelers in the elite division.

Real Valladolid produced quite a coup by gaining promotion to the top flight despite the serious financial problems at the club, which in turn prevented them from properly reinforcing the squad in off season.

Pucela, nonetheless, signed several quality players on free transfers and loan deals, and have enjoyed a pretty good start to the season.

While bringing three points from four away games, Miroslav Djukic’s side did well to pick up seven points from four home matches, meaning they have reason for optimism ahead of the clash with Real Sociedad.

Given that their opponents have yet to bring their first points from the travels, home win look a good bet here, especially with BetVictor paying 2.20 (6/5).

Star striker Manucho Goncalves is suspended, while Lluis Sastre is nearing his return after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Hernandez – Rukavina, Valiente, Sereno, Balenziaga – Perez, Rubio – Ebert, Gonzalez, Omar – Guerra.

Real Sociedad remain one of the most predictable sides in Spanish La Liga, which is not necessarily a good thing for them.

The Basque remain a force to be reckoned with at their Anoeta, where they had won three straight games before losing to Atletico Madrid last weekend, but their showings on the travels are a cause for concern.

Despite mostly facing bottom table sides, Real Sociedad have lost all four away games this season, scoring just 2 goals and conceding 10 in the process.

Boss Philippe Montanier is hoping the dreadful run will end at Estadio Municipal Jose Zorilla, but the problem is the French coach faces a genuine selection headache at the moment.

David Zurutza and Gorka Elustondo are definitely out, while Claudio Bravo, Ruben Pardo, Diego Irfan, Inigo Martinez and Liassine Cadamuro are all injury doubts.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Zubikarai – Estrada, Gonzalez, Martinez, De la Bella – Bergara, Illarramendi – Prieto, Vela, Griezmann – Agirretxe.
