Real vs Atletico 0-1The shocking defeat to Osasuna may have put a dent into Atletico’s title hopes, but los Colchoneros have a perfect opportunity to make amends as they play host to La Liga leaders Real Madrid.

Nevertheless, with los Blancos clearly on top of their game at the moment and going into the Vicente Calderon clash on the back of a 6-1 triumph over Schalke, there are no doubts as to who the favourites here are.

With 13 games to go, Atletico are still within touching distance of El Clasico rivals and that has got to be considered a great result for Diego Simeone and his men.

However, having come this far to earn a chance to fight for the coveted title, los Colchoneros are not prepared to give up just yet.

While performing really well in league derbies against their title rivals, Atletico suffered unexpected slip-ups against Almeria and Osasuna that could easily prove crucial in the final count.

Nevertheless, los Colchoneros have an excellent chance to neutralize the three-point gap behind their local rivals when they face them on Saturday, with home win paying 3.60 (13/5).

And having already defeated Real in a reverse fixture at Santiago Bernabeu, Atletico have a chance to achieve a league double over their local rivals for the first time in 63 years.

After coming through the Osasuna game unscathed, Filipe Luis is set to keep his place on the left, but David Villa and Diego Ribas will have to settle for a place on the bench. Javi Manquillo and Tiago Mendes are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Courtois – Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Filipe Luis – Koke, Gabi, Mario, Arda – Diego Costa, Raul Garcia.

It took Carlo Ancelotti a while to get his team playing to their potential, but we can safely say los Blancos have reached their top form.

Real Madrid are still in the running four three major trophies and they simply look unstoppable at the moment.

Having won 16 of last 17 fixtures in all competitions, the visitors arrive at Vicente Calderon in high spirits and no wonder they have been made 2.10 (11/10) favourites to claim maximum points.

The 5-0 aggregate victory over the same opponents in Copa del Rey will certainly keep los Merengues in good stead for the league clash.

After scoring a brace in the 6-1 victory over Schalke in midweek, Cristiano Ronaldo is 4.50 (7/2) to open the scoring at Vicente Calderon.

With no fresh injuries to report, Carlo Ancelotti is set to field the same 10 outfield players that started the Schalke game, although keeper Diego Lopez will be recalled.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Lopez – Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo – Modric, Alonso, Di Maria – Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo.
