Atletico vs AthleticTitle contenders Atletico Madrid aim to again close the gap behind leaders Barcelona to a single point with what would be their 11th victory in 12 games.

Meanwhile, high-flying Athletic Bilbao have an excellent chance to prove they should be considered serious top 4 contenders this term.

Atletico Madrid have really raised the bar high with their latest performances and it is by no means easy for the players to perform under such a pressure.

Following an amazing start to the new season, los Colchoneros are now expected to keep winning and do it in style presumably, but that is not always possible.

After two comfortable victories over Austria Wien and Real Betis, Atletico had to settle for one hard-fought triumph, as they recorded a 2-1 win over Granada on the road.

Two penalty goals proved sufficient for 10th victory of the campaign, with los Colchoneros 1.33 (1/3) to see off Athletic Bilbao as well.

Diego Costa doesn’t seem to be too concerned by the controversy surrounding his decision to play for Spain, and having scored 12 goals in 11 fixtures, the “Spaniard” is 1.83 (5/6) to continue his impressive run.

Leo Baptistao has resumed full training from an ankle problem, but Arda Turan remains a major doubt. Filipe Luis is available despite the sending off at Granada.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Courtois – Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Filipe Luis – Adrian, Gabi, Mario, Koke – Diego Costa, Villa.

Athletic Bilbao chiefs were left with a difficult task of finding the right successor to Marcelo Bielsa this summer, but they seem to have made a great decision in appointing Ernesto Valverde.

The talented tactician has helped the players restore the confidence following a very disappointing season, with a switch to new San Mames serving as another major boost.

The team in turn enjoyed a bright start to the league campaign, mostly thanks to impressive home form and they find themselves tied on points with fourth-placed Villarreal.

And while many were disappointed to see Athletic pick up just one point from their home game against Elche, that has got to be considered a decent result given their opponents’ impressive form and the fact los Leones came back from two goals behind to earn a 2-2 draw.

With the attack in fine working order, you should definitely consider backing both teams to score at 2.10 (11/10) offered by 888sport.

First choice keeper Gorka Iraizoz returns into action, but Ander Iturraspe and Kike Sola has been ruled out through injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Iraizoz – Iraola, Gurpegui, Laporte, Balenziaga – Benat, Mikel Rico, Herrera – Susaeta, Aduriz, Muniain.
