Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have been linked with a surprise move for Norwich City midfielder Emiliano Buendia.
According to Sky Sports, Diego Simeone’s men like the look of the winger ahead of a potential move in the summer. They are not the only La Liga side who have their eyes on the 23-year-old though, with Valencia also thought to be admirers.
The Argentine has drawn considerable praise this season for his performances for already relegated Norwich City. His creativity and speed both dangerous weapons in his arsenal.
He also played a huge role in the Canaries’ promotion from the Championship, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists following his move from Getafe in 2018.
Despite being linked with a move away, he has insisted that he is happy at Carrow Road.
Talking to Sky Sports, he said: “Everyone helped me here since the beginning. I have a contract here and I hope the club, the team and the fans get back to the Premier league as seen as possible.
“We have to be focused to finish the season well, not thinking about next season or each player in himself. Now we have to finish, we have a game tomorrow and one more at Carrow Road.
“We have to think to finish the league with our best performance.”
Buendia will hope to make an impression in the remainder of the Premier League season and is available at odds of 40/1 with William Hill to score the opening goal against Chelsea on Tuesday evening.
