Celtic manager Neil Lennon has admitted that the Hoops will find it ‘very, very difficult to lift the Scottish Premiership title this season.

The Scottish giants are gunning for their 10th league title in a row but have found life extremely difficult during the current campaign and currently sit 13 points behind great rivals Rangers in the standings due to a run of just two wins in 12 matches in all competitions.

As a result of that, Lennon, who took the reins from former boss Brendan Rodgers, has conceded that it could be very tough for Celtic to challenge for the title considering their poor form.

He said: “There is definitely a lack of confidence there, a lack of confidence in themselves as individuals and each other. We need to get that back because they can play, they proved that last season.

“But this season it’s been a struggle for them. Whether it’s a lack of attitude or desire… there’s bits and pieces that I see now and again that I can’t really change overnight, but I want to.

“As far as the season goes we are making it very, very difficult for ourselves to get back into it.

“I have got to be realistic. I wouldn’t say it’s over but we are making it more and more difficult for ourselves and we need to start winning games and winning them well.”

Celtic now sit at odds as high as 5/1 with William Hill to win the league come the end of the season.
