Mikel Arteta praises Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Emile Smith Rowe for his performance against Hibernian in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday.

The Gunners started their preparations for the 2021-22 campaign with a match against Scottish Premiership match against Hibernian.

Hibs won the pre-season friendly match 2-1.

Attacking midfielder Smith Rowe was the goalscorer for Arsenal, and manager Arteta has praised him.

Arteta told Arsenal’s official website about Smith Rowe’s goal: “He knows that it is a part of the game he needs to get better at. 

“We are working on it a lot and you could see the positions that he took today. He created two or three big chances.”

Smith Rowe made 18 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal last season.

The 20-year-old scored four goals and gave four assists in those matches.

The attacking midfielder also made eight starts and three substitute appearances in the Europa League last season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process.

Arsenal can be backed at 11/2 on Betfair to finish in the top four of the Premier League table next season.
