Marcus Bettinelli has expressed his delight at joining Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Bettinelli has moved to the 2021 Champions League winners on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper was out of contract at Fulham at the end of last season.

The former England Under-21 international spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Middlesbrough in the Championship.

Bettinelli has put pen to paper on a two-year contract at Chelsea and will replace the departed Willy Caballero in the team.

The Englishman will be the third-choice goalkeeper at Chelsea behind Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Bettinelli told Chelsea’s official website: “It’s always been a special club. I know the area very well so it’s been a dream of mine to come over to this side and it’s finally happened.

“There were some talks a few years ago when I was a bit younger and for whatever reason that didn’t come about but I’m here now.

“I’m really excited to be involved and looking forward to trying to impress and help the team as much as I can.”

Chelsea can be backed at 5/1 on Betfair to win the Premier League title next season.
