Udinese vs Napoli preview

Napoli vs UdineseUdinese will be happy to return to Friuli, having won last four league games at home, although extending the run might prove to be a difficult task now that they play host to title contenders Napoli.

The Azzurri hope to make amends for the Europa League exit at the hands of Viktoria Plzen and at the same time remain in the Serie A title chase.

While Udinese were struggling to find any sort of consistency in the first part of the season, the team have been pretty predictable after the winter break.

Since the league campaign resumed, the Zebrette lost all three matches on the road and won every one of their four home matches, so they are certainly hoping the trend continues against Napoli.

Even if beating the Azzurri will be no easy task, the Friulani can be backed at odds of 3.10 (21/10) offered at Paddy Power.

Top scorer Antonio Di Natale has failed to find the net in last five fixtures, and he is now 2.30 (13/10) with Sportingbet to end the scoring drought.

Udinese will be severely weakened in this high-profile encounter given that starters Zeljko Brkic, Giampiero Pazzini and Andrea Lazzari are injured and Gabrielle Angella is suspended.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Padelli – Benatia, Danilo, Domizzi – Basta, Pereyra, Allan, Badu, Pasquale – Muriel – Di Natale.

Considering how well Napoli have played this season, it would really be a shame that the latest poor run of results ruin their Serie A campaign.

While failing to win their last two league games, the Azzurri were embarrassed during their Europa League clash against Viktoria Plzen, with the 5-0 aggregate defeat definitely a cause for concern.

The only positive is that the team can now finally concentrate on their league campaign, and attempt to do the impossible and pip mighty Juventus to the Scudetto.

If they are to have any chance of producing such a coup, the Azzurri need to win at Friuli, and BetVictor has them at 2.45 (29/20) to succeed in their quest.

Just like his rivals for the top goalscorer trophy, Edinson Cavani has failed to score in last five matches, and is 2.00 (1/1) with Sportingbet to end the dismal run.

Should Alessandro Gamberini recover from an ankle injury, Walter Mazzarri will have fully fit squad to choose from.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-1-2): De Sanctis – Campagnaro, Cannavaro, Britos – Maggio, Behrami, Inler, Zuniga – Hamsik – Cavani, Insigne.
