Ibrahimovic to pen new AC Milan deal

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to extend his stay at AC Milan by signing a new one-year deal.

The Swedish striker’s current contract is set to expire in the summer however according to Sky In Italy, he will pen a new deal imminently with terms having already been agreed in principle.

The 39-year-old has been clinical since he return to Milan on a free transfer from LA Galaxy.

He joined half-way through the previous campaign netting 10 goals in 18 Serie A matches, following that up with a further 15 league strikes throughout the 2020/21 campaign.

It is form that has propelled Stefano Pioli’s men into title contention as they currently sit second just behind great rivals Inter Milan.

Those displays have also seen Ibrahimovic return to contention for the Swedish national team in the most recent international break and could see him be included in his country’s squad for the upcoming European Championships.

First though, he will hope to keep affecting his side’s title chances. Milan take on Parma on Saturday and Ibrahimovic is once again amongst the favourites to net the opening goal of the game. He can be backed at a price of 25/1 with William Hill to be named as the top goalscorer in Serie A this season.
