Italian giants Inter Milan have officially signed Chilean midfielder Gary Medel from Cardiff City following the lengthy negotiations with the Welsh side.
BBC Sport understands that the Nerazzurri have agreed to match a £10 asking price, while earlier agreeing personal terms with the player.
Inter had been desperate to reinforce their midfield area following the departure of Esteban Cambiasso and they have now added two high-quality players to their ranks in Yann M’Vila and Gary Medel.
The Chile star has failed to help Cardiff City avoid relegation to the Championship after becoming their record signing last summer, but he in turn impressed for La Roja at the 2014 World Cup, despite playing as a centre-back.
Inter Milan boss Walter Mazzarri believes the 27-year-old will add much needed steel to the centre of the park and help the team mount a serious top 3 challenge.
Having also recruited Nemanja Vidic, Dodo and Pablo Osvaldo, the Nerazzurri are available at 3.50 (5/2) to clinch Champions League qualification.
