Fiorentina vs Parma preview

Fiorentina vs ParmaFiorentina are hoping to return to winning ways following the unfortunate defeat to Inter Milan, whereas their opponents Parma aim to build on their first victory of the season, achieved against Atalanta.

In spite of the minor changes to the playing squad, Viola were able to pick up where they had left off last season, and once again enjoyed a pretty solid start to the league campaign.

Back to back victories over Catania and Genoa hinted Vincenzo Montella’s side were ready to mount another top 3 challenge, although the team then slipped up at home against Cagliari.

Away triumph over Atalanta helped Viola return to the right track ahead of the derby match against Inter, and the team in turn produced an excellent display at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

However, Fiorentina ended up suffering an unfortunate defeat after being unable to hold on to their lead, so no doubt they will be looking to make amends against Parma.

With Viola usually quite convincing at their Artemio Franchi, they look a good bet to return to winning ways at 1.62 (5/8) at William Hill.

After rejuvenated Giuseppe Rossi scored his fifth goal in as many league matches, the former Italy international is 2.00 (1/1) at Paddy Power to extend his amazing run.

David Pizarro returns to the side from a two-match ban, but Manue Pasqual has joined Mario Gomez, Juan Cuadrado and Ahmed Hegazy in the infirmary.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Neto – Roncaglia, Rodriguez, Savic – Joaquin, Aquilani, Pizarro, Valero, Alonso – Fernandez – Rossi.

Buoyed by another very successful season and some very good dealings in the summer transfer window, Parma were tipped for a good start to the new league campaign, but things have not exactly gone according to plan.

I Ducali largely struggled in the opening exchanges, picking up just two points from first four matches, although they did improve to beat Atalanta in midweek.

Nevertheless, the mere fact boss Roberto Donadoni was not satisfied with team’s performance in the 4-3 victory is enough to suggest the team are still far from the desired form.

The good news is they have rediscovered their scoring form after firing two blanks in the first four matches, so you might want to back Parma to score at Artemio Franchi, at 1.67 (2/3) at Ladbrokes.

Suspended striker Amauri is likely to be sorely missed, while Daniele Galloppa, Gabriel Paletta and Mory Kone are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Mirante – Cassani, Lucarelli, Felipe – Rosi, Gargano, Marchionni, Parolo, Gobbi – Biabiany – Cassano.
