CasillasReal Madrid legend Iker Casillas has seen a drastic decline in form and stature as his career approaches its final years.

Now at Porto, the 34-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has endured difficult time in Portugal as he has gone on a tragic and seemingly irreversible decline.

Heavily criticised for his poor displays and frequent errors, Iker Casillas has been recurrently signed out in the Iberian press.

Such was the case in the game against Braga when former Los Blancos shot stopper chose to rush from his goal at the worst time possible, misjudging his distance terribly, leading to an easy goal from Braga’s Alan, who slotted the ball into the empty net.

It wasn’t the first time Iker Casillas was under fire this season and even his fiancée Sara Carbonero has had enough with it, urging Casillas to change clubs during summer.

Pregnant with their second child, Carbonero wants out of Portugal as she is reportedly fed up with all the hate directed towards Iker.

Perhaps the heaviest criticism of all came this week from no other than Porto president Pinto da Costa.

Spanish daily El Confidencial are reporting that Porto official has labelled Iker Casillas “a fiasco”, saying that Spaniard’s performances have cost Porto games, league and their early exit in the Champions League.

Da Costa also claims that Iker’s salary is unaffordable for the club and that summer departure would come as the best outcome for both sides.

Iker Casillas has been targeted by several MLS clubs with New York City FC reportedly expressing interest to sign the Spanish legend at the end of the season.

Porto goalkeeper has fallen short of form at the worst moment possible as the 2016 European Championship finals in France are just around the corner.

Spain are among the favourites to be crowned European champions with the odds of 4.33 (11/2) @Ladbrokes, but Iker Casillas should fear for his place on the goal line given his struggling form.

Iker Casillas is contracted to Porto until 2017, but there is growing belief that he will part his ways with the Dragons come the end of the season.
