Barcelona club doctor Ricard Pruna has revealed that David Villa still have a chance to make Spain’s Euro 2012 squad.

The experienced forward has been out of action since breaking his leg in December, but Spain boss Vincent del Bosque is desperate to take the Barcelona star to the European Championship.

Barcelona club doctor has confirmed reports that Villa could play some part at the final tournament.

“Villa is doing ball work and recovery exercises,” Pruna said at a press conference.

“We have to wait two more weeks, but what is clear is that he will miss the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao.

“To be fair, he could play at the Euros. In the next few weeks we will decide if he will join up with Spain’s team and whether he can play at the Euros. He is absolutely not ruled out for the tournament.”

On the other hand, Pruna is positive Carles Puyol will not be able to recover in time to be taken into consideration.

“We think that Puyol does not have any chance to play at the Euro, based on the time he will need to recover.”

Online bookmakers see Spain as the number one favourites for the trophy, with Bodog paying 3.60 (13/5) on La Furia Roja to defend the European Championship title.
