This game will serve as a real test to Rennes’ title aspirations with champions Marseille hoping to return to the title race by beating a direct competitor.

Les Bretons are currently tied on points with leaders Lille after winning five straight league games and even if this may be a long shot, odds of 10.00 (9/1) offered on Rennes to win the title are worth giving it a go.

Frederic Antonetti’s side boast by far the best defensive record in Ligue 1, having conceded just 18 goals in 26 games, keeping 4 clean sheets in last 5 games.

Kader Mangane and Yacine Brahimi returned into action in the last week’s victory over Montpellier and they are expected to start this game, while Jires Kembo-Ekoko could also return. Onyekachi Apam and Sylvain Marveaux are likely to miss out.

Marseille ended the great run of results as they lost at home to title rivals Lille and OM now have to win this game if they plan to stay in the title race.

Didier Deschamps’ men, nonetheless, have reason for optimism after winning their last two away games and they are 3.00 (2/1) at Victor Chandler to make it three in a row on the travels.

The visitors face certain selection worries as striker Brandao is likely to miss out after being accused of rape, but key midfielder Lucho Gonzalez should be fit after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Andre-Pierre Gignac should return to the starting line-up, but Cesar Azpilicueta and Julien Rodriguez are still in the infirmary.
