Italy boss Cesare Prandelli has named his 27-man squad for a friendly against Brazil and a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Malta.

Players from Serie A leaders Juventus and in-form Milan dominate the squad, which also features two uncapped players.

Torino winger Alessio Cerci and Milan full-back Mattia de Sciglio are tipped to be handed their first Azzurri caps.

With Cesare Prandelli always picking his players based on current form, it is little wonder Luca Antonelli, Davide Astori, Andrea Poli and Alberto Gilardino have been included.

On the other hand, Antonio Cassano, Davide Santon, Domenico Criscito and Marco Verratti have been overlooked.

Italy square off with 2014 World Cup hosts Brazil on Thursday in Geneva, with the Azzurri 3.50 (5/2) at Stan James to end a six-match winless run in international friendlies.
