Napoli vs Milan preview

Both clubs enter the derby game boosted by the good results achieved in the Champions League and are now looking to continue the good run with a confident performance at San Paolo.

Napoli started the season in great fashion, having beaten Cesena away from home in their opening game, whereas the Azzurri continued the rich vein of form with 1:1 draw against Manchester City.

After the arrivals of Gokhan Inler, Blerim Dzemaili and Goran Pandev, to name just a few, Walter Mazzarri’s side look even stronger than last term and they don’t seem to have any problems coping with the pressure of expectations.

The hosts go into this game encouraged by their performance at Etihad Stadium and are now 2.62 (13/8) with Paddy Power to get one over their rivals.

Ezequiel Lavezzi picked up a heel injury in midweek and is likely to miss out, with Goran Pandev expected to replace him in the starting line-up.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): De Sanctis – Campagnaro, Cannavaro, Aronica – Maggio, Inler, Gargano, Dossena – Hamsik, Pandev – Cavani.

Milan opened the Serie A campaign with a hard-fought draw against Lazio, coming back from two goals down to earn one point.

The Rossoneri then traveled to Camp Nou to face the Champions League winners Barcelona and managed to return home unbeaten, as Thiago Silva salvaged a point with a last gasp effort.

The 2:2 draw at Camp Nou has got to be considered a great result when we take into account all the problems coach Massimiliano Allegri had experienced before the game.

The talented boss will have to wait until the final moment to see who he can count on for the Napoli clash, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic is definitely out.

Massimo Ambrosini, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Robinho, Filippo Inzaghi, Gianluca Zambrotta and Gennaro Gattuso are all doubtful, and Allegri is now certainly happy to have such a big squad to choose from.

Alexandre Pato is set to start up front alongside Antonio Cassano and after scoring a great goal at Camp Nou, the Brazilian is 3.00 (2/1) with Stan James to do the same at San Paolo.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Abbiati – Abate, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Antonini – Nocerino, Van Bommel, Aquilani – Seedorf – Pato, Cassano.

The biggest game of the season is just around the corner with Manchester United playing host to Chelsea on Sunday. Bet365 decided to join in the party and now offer Free In-Play bet on the big match.
