Bordeaux vs MarseilleThis is a must-win game for Marseille if they still harbour hopes of catching Ligue 1 leaders PSG, whereas les Girondins also have plenty of motives given they could revive their European dream by winning at Stade Velodrome.

There’s no denying OM have shown a considerable improvement from last season, even if they were not able to keep up with free-spending Paris Saint-Germain.

However, this season cannot be considered a success given that the team were unable to challenge for the trophy in Europa League, Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue.

With Ligue 1 the only remaining competition, Marseille need to cement the second place in the standings and hope that PSG would slip up so that maybe they can revive their title bid as well.

Victory against Bordeaux is crucial for team’s ambitions, so bear in mind home win pays 1.91 (10/11) at SkyBet.

Having seriously improved at the back to keep three clean sheets in a row, Marseille are 2.10 (11/10) at Coral not to concede against Bordeaux.

Key defender Nicolas N’Koulou is doubtful with a thigh problem, while Morgan Amalfitano is still a couple of weeks away from making his return.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Mandanda – Fanni, Diawara, Lucas, Morel – Romao, Barton – Sougou, Valbuena, A. Ayew – Gignac.

Bordeaux started the season much earlier than other French sides due to their Europa League commitments, and while that allowed the team to hit the ground running early on, the long season is proving to be a big problem.

Due to numerous selection problems, boss Francois Gillot was unable to properly deploy his rotation policy, which has seen his key players run on empty during the past few weeks.

Having won just one of last seven league games, les Girondins slipped to ninth in the league standings, and they are now some six points behind European places.

This basically means they need to try and win at Stade Velodrome in order to get back into contention for Europa League berths, but that is easier said than done.

However, having already won five games on the travels in the league this term, Bordeaux are 5.00 (4/1) at William Hill to see off Marseille as well.

Landry N’Guemo has been ruled out for the season, while Diego Rolan and Henrique are not yet ready to return.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Carrasso – Mariano, Planus, Sane, Tremoulinas – Plasil, Sertic – Sailvet, Obraniak, Maurice-Belay – Diabate.
