Mainz vs Bayern MunichIt will be up to struggling Mainz to try and stop Bayern Munich in their tracks and add a little bit of excitement to the Bundesliga title chase.

The Bavarians have an 11-point cushion at the summit after winning last seven fixtures and they will fancy their chances of extending the run at Coface Arena.

Mainz did brilliantly to establish themselves as a genuine top table side over the last few years, and the club have been regular in European competitions of late.

However, the early exit from Europe seems to have had a very negative effect on the team this term as they cannot seem to get their season back on track.

Kasper Hjulmand’s charges have been pretty disappointing over the last month or so, taking mere four points from last eight games, so this is clearly a bad time to be facing holders Bayern Munich.

But, having shown some promise of late, Mainz will be hoping to give the Bavarians a real run for their money and they can be backed at 4.33 (10/3) not to lose.

Boss Hjulmand was delighted to welcome back important midfielder Koo Ja-Cheol from a muscle problem and the Korean could start against Bayern.

However, captain Nikolce Noveski and fellow defender Niko Bungert are expected to again miss out through injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Karius – Brosinski, Bell, Jara, Diaz – Geis, Park – Koo, Malli, Samperio – Okazaki.

Bayern Munich are cruising towards another Bundesliga title, but the Bavarians are clearly taking every game seriously in spite of the big lead.

While securing the first position in what was the toughest Champions League group, Pep Guardiola’s charges have been playing at a very high level on domestic stage.

Bayern not only won last seven league matches, but have now kept six clean sheets on the bounce, so bear in mind they are 1.95 (19/20) to win to nil.

The Bavarians will be very motivated to win their final fixture before the winter break, with away win paying 1.25 (1/4).

There have been more bad news on injury front as Mehdi Benatia, Robert Lewandowski and Xabi Alonso all suffered injuries against Freiburg, with the Moroccan defender already ruled out with a groin problem.

Meanwhile, Philipp Lahm, David Alaba, Javi Martinez, Holger Badstuber and Thiago Alcantara remain on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (4-1-4-1): Neuer – Rafinha, Boateng, Dante, Bernat – Schweinsteiger – Robben, Muller, Gotze, Ribery – Lewandowski.
