Reims vs LilleAfter their European hopes suffered a major blow last weekend, Lille hope a morale-boosting win will help the players restore the lost confidence before the final two games of the season.

Reims sit five points clear of the relegation positions with just three games to go, but they could really use one point from Grand Stade Lille Metropole.

Having recovered well from the dismal start to the season, les Dogues even managed to join the race for Champions League position against all odds.

The team played with a lot of confidence until recently, but setbacks against Sochaux, when they squandered a three-goal lead, and Toulouse could end up costing them dearly.

As a result, Lille now sit six and three points adrift of Champions League and Europa League places respectively, meaning this is a must-win game for them.

Having been pretty convincing at home this season, les Dogues are 1.36 (4/11) favourites with Ladbrokes to claim maximum points.

The good news Lille are almost at full strength for the visit of Reims, with only attacker Ryan Mendes missing through injury.

Midfielder Florent Balmont returns from suspension, with Salomon Kalou set to continue as a lone striker even if Tulio de Melo is back in contention.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Elana – Beria, Chedjou, Basa, Digne – Martin, Mavuba, Balmont – Rodelin, Kalou, Payet.

After their promotion to the top flight proved to be quite a surprise, Reims were tipped for a straight return to Ligue 2 ahead of the start of the current season.

Nevertheless, Hubert Fournier’s side weren’t too concerned with pre-season predictions, and they seem to have already secured Ligue 1 survival thanks to the strong finish to the league campaign.

They appeared to be in problems following a 15-match winless run, but victories over relegation rivals Nancy and mighty PSG helped them return to the right track.

The team have since been pretty impressive both home and away, having lost just one of last seven league fixtures.

Reims now need just a couple of more points to clinch survival and after taking five points from last three away matches, they might be able to frustrate Lille as well.

Boss Hubert Fournier has no fresh injury worries, but Johan Ramare returns from suspension, while forward Diego remains sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Agassa – Mandi, Tacalfred, Weber, Signorino – Souare, Krychowiak, Devaux – Glombard, Courtet, Ayite.
