Inter vs Parma preview

Inter aim to continue their four-match winning run that helped them return to the title race, whereas Parma probably wouldn’t mind recording the fifth straight draw in Serie A.

The Neroazzurri were one of just a handful of teams that weren’t too happy about going on the winter break, seeing that they had finally managed to create a good run of results.

Claudio Ranieri’s side recorded four straight Serie A wins to climb to fifth place in the standings, and they can now put extra pressure on their title rivals by beating Parma.

Seeing that the Neroazzurri conceded just one goal in last four games, backing Inter to win to nil looks at odds of 2.20 (6/5) offered by Paddy Power looks like the right thing to do.

While the winter break may have disrupted team’s momentum, it had a very positive effect on Claudio Ranieri’s squad, seeing that Cristian Chivu, Dejan Stankovic, Diego Milito, Emiliano Viviano and Mauro Zarate all recovered from injuries.

However, Diego Forlan, Wesley Sneijder and Jonathan are still a couple of weeks away from making their return into action.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Cesar – Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Nagatomo – Zanetti, Motta, Cambiasso, Alvarez – Milito, Pazzini.

Parma had been the only Serie A side without a draw in first 12 league games, but that didn’t stop them from recording four straight draws before the winter break.

The problems is that three of those four games were played at home, so it is more than clear that Franco Colomba’s side should have done better during that period.

Despite being winless in last five league games, il Ducali still sit no less than seven points clear of the relegation zone, but they need to show some improvement or risk slipping into the danger zone.

Taking into account that Parma scored no less than six goals in last two games, odds of 1.80 (4/5) offered by Sportingbet may be worth a shot.

Apart from veteran defender Alessandro Lucarelli, who misses out through suspension, Francesco Colomba can choose from a fully fit squad.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): Mirante – Zaccardo, Santacrocce, Paletta, Gobbi – Biabiany, Galloppa, Morone, Modesto – Giovinco – Floccari.
