Poland boss Franciszek Smuda has announced his provisional 26-man squad for the European Championship finals.

The squad features 26 players plus 7 reserves, all of whom have a chance of being named in the final 23-man squad.

Arsenal keeper Woljciech Szczesny and Borussia Dortmund trio Robert Lewandowski, Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski have all made the squad, but there have been a couple of surprises as well.

The inclusion of Hannover striker Artur Sobiech, Legia forward Michal Kucharczyk and youngster Rafal Wolski raised a few eyebrows, however.

“For the last two and a half years I’ve had time to recognise what my players can do and I believe the group chosen will give our fans real joy,” said Smuda at the event near the Royal Castle.

“I know we’re under pressure and that’s the way it should be. It’s normal but we can cope, don’t worry, and have players such as the Borussia Dortmund ones who play in front of 80,000 fans every week.”

Poland have been placed into the easiest group at the final tournament, alongside Russia, Greece and Czech Republic, and the co-hosts are 1.95 (19/20) at Ladbrokes to qualify for the next round.
