The two teams already met in the 2010 World Cup play-offs, with Portugal emerging triumphant, so everybody in Bosnia and Hercegovina will be hoping this clash has a different outcome.

Following the impressive showing in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers and a narrow miss on the place at the final tournament, Bosnia have experienced big problems at the start to the Euro 2012 qualifiers.

New boss Safet Susic struggled to get the best out of a very good side, with Bosnia picking up just 7 points from first 5 games.

However, the team than showed a massive improvement and went on to win next four games, while they narrowly missed out on automatic qualification, having conceded the equalizer in France late into the game from a dubious penalty.

Bosnia players are full of confidence before the Portugal clash, as they are aware they can now match even the best sides in Europe and you should know home win pays 3.40 (12/5) at Victor Chandler.

Coach Safet Susic faces some selection problems as Sasa Papac and Boris Pandza are suspended, whereas Mensur Mujdza is sidelined with injury.

Miralem Pjanic, Kenan Hasagic and Adnan Mravac are all carrying minor knocks, but they should be available for selection, nevertheless.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Begovic – Jahic, Spahic, Mravac, Lulic – Medunjanin, Rahimic, Pjanic, Salihovic – Dzeko, Ibisevic.

Despite being once considered one of the top national teams in the world, Portugal are no longer a force to be reckoned with, as witnessed by their performances in the last two qualifying campaigns.

After they were beaten by Denmark to the first place in their group in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, Portugal managed to reach the final tournament by recording a 2:0 aggregate win over Bosnia in the play-offs.

Their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign eerily resembles their previous one, with Paulo Bento’s side again set to face Bosnia in the play-offs after coming second in their group behind Denmark.

The atmosphere surrounding the national team is pretty poor at the moment, with coach Bento constantly criticized over his squad selection as well as for the clashes with star players Ricardo Carvalho and Jose Bosingwa.

Portugal may be considered favourites in this clash by online bookmakers, but odds of 2.38 (11/8) offered by Ladbrokes on away win do not look too tempting when we take everything into account.

Zenit playmaker Danny and Atletico Madrid full-back Silvio were forced to withdraw, with Eliseu and Vierinha called as replacements.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Patricio – Joao Pereira, Bruno Alves, Rolando, Coentrao – Meireles, Moutinho, Martins – Nani, Postiga, Ronaldo.
