Borussia enter this game looking to close the gap behind safety, whereas Kaiserslautern can make a big step towards survival by taking at least one point from this match.

Borussia M’gladbach still sit at rock bottom, five points adrift of safety, but the situation is much better than few weeks ago.

Following the arrival of coach Lucien Favre, die Fohlen picked up seven points from last four games and they now have a realistic chance of surviving this season.

After beating Schalke and Hoffenheim in their last two home games, Borussia are 2.25 (5/4) at Victor Chandler to make it three in a row.

The hosts will be without Igor de Camargo, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Jean-Sebastien Jaures and Jens Wissing, while captain Filip Daems should feature despite struggling with a bout of flu.

FC Kaiserslautern climbed out of the relegation zone as they beat Freiburg at home, but Marco Kurz’s team still cannot afford to relax.

This will be an extremely important game for the visitors as they have a chance to knock one of the rivals out of the survival fight, although they would probably be satisfied with one point from this game.

Marco Kurz should have almost full squad to choose from as keeper Tobias Sippel and top scorer Srdjan Lakic return to the side, leaving Jan Simunek and Chadli Amri the only players on the sidelines.

Kaiserslautern ended the four-match losing run on the travels as they shared spoils with Eintracht Frankfurt and they are 1.62 (8/13) not to lose the game at Bodog.
