Freiburg vs SevillaGerman side Freiburg need to put their poor form on domestic stage behind them and try to secure their place in the Europa League knockout stages by beating Sevilla on Thursday.

Meanwhile, los Rojiblancos only need a point to secure the first place in the group, and they go into this match high on confidence.

Freiburg largely impressed last season to achieve a fifth-place finish in Bundesliga, but they have been largely struggling this term.

SCF did see a number of important players leave the club over the summer, but they also managed to sign some decent replacements.

Nevertheless, the team have experienced all sorts of problems in Bundesliga, slipping to the relegation zone after picking up just 11 points from 15 league fixtures.

Meanwhile, Christian Streich’s men were on the verge of European elimination, but they defeated Slovan Liberec away and now need to equal the result of the Slovakian side in the final round to make it through.

And even if Slovan face a tough task away at Estoril, Freiburg will attempt to beat Sevilla, with home win paying 2.62 (13/8).

The hosts face serious selection problems ahead of the all-important clash, with Julian Schuster, Jonathan Schmid, Mensur Mujdza, Vegar Eggen Hedenstad and Francis Coquelin all sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Baumann – Sorg, Hohn, Diagne, Gunter – Fernandes, Hofler, Ginter, Kerk – Darida, Mehmedi.

Sevilla have been in similar situation to that of their next opponents in the summer, having seen a number of key players leave, but boss Unai Emery has done brilliantly to rebuild the squad in such a short time.

Los Rojiblancos have now seriously closed the gap behind top 4 positions following a three-match winning run, whereas their Europa League campaign is also going according to plan.

Sevilla carry a three-point advantage into the final group game and it would take a small miracle for them to crash out in group stage.

With the team in excellent form at the moment and their opponents missing a number of key players, there is value in odds of 3.00 (2/1) offered on away win.

Kevin Gameiro is doubtful with a muscle problem, whereas Vitolo, Pareja, Marin, Cheryshev and Cicinho continue to miss out.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Varas – Coke, Cala, Fazio, Moreno – M’Bia, Cristoforo – Trochowski, Rakitic, Perotti – Baca.
