Arsene Wenger has admitted he regrets selecting Samir Nasri for the FA Cup tie against Huddersfield after the Frenchman picked up a hamstring injury.

The French international is now set to miss three weeks of action after picking up hamstring injury against Huddersfield.

“Nasri looks to have a serious hamstring injury, usually it is three weeks. We have to see if it is a grade one, it will be two weeks, so we will see,” Wenger was quoted as saying.

“I have now regrets because the plan was to play Rosicky but he was still too weak, because he was sick, so I took the gamble on Nasri.

“It backfired, but he could have come on and that happened as well. It is very difficult to predict, we are at the stage of the season where we play so many games that to lose bodies is very difficult for us.”

The Gunners return to action tomorrow evening as they play host to Everton, and Arsenal are 1.50 (1/2) to win the game at William Hill. Draw pays 4.00 (3/1), with the price on Everton 7.00 (6/1).
